You asked – we delivered!

Nectari is here to make your life easier, from continuing to add to the Web Workbook to getting access to more data sources and navigating the Data Model Designer. Many of our updates come straight from customer feedback, so keep your requests coming! You can provide feature suggestions directly from within Nectari or submit your input on our Feature Requests page if you're on an older version.

Web Workbook

Excel import is here!

Anyone using the Web Workbook has been waiting to start importing their Excel reports, and now they finally can! When importing your Excel report to the web client, a new tab will be created where you can make changes and save the new workbook.

Shortcuts

Shortcut keys, used in other spreadsheet applications, are now available in the Web Workbook. You can view the complete list of shortcuts here.

Even better performance

We've improved the workbook's performance and reduced the workbook's size stored in the database, which will help when you open several workbooks at the same time. We’ve also set the default number of rows to 1000, which eliminates the need to manually increase the row count.

Quickly filter on table data

Similar to Excel table slicers, you can quickly filter your data in the Web Workbook by adding a slicer to your table. Once the slicer menu is added, you can select a different slicer and dynamically update your data. Slicers can be easily formatted, and slicer options and all other table formatting options can be found under the Table Design tab in the menu.

Dynamically change your data with customizable table slicers.

Save time by copying folders

If you want to save time from recreating Web Workbook folders, you can now copy the entire contents of a folder, from within the Nectari Command Center. For example, if you have a folder for every month with the same reports, like an Income Statement or a Balance Sheet, you can simply create the folders for all these months ahead of time by copying the original Web Workbook folder.

New predefined reports

Our first Web Workbook templates are now available! The new Finance KPI Dashboard and Business Dashboard for Sage Intacct, Sage 300 and Sage X3 provide insights into your company's financial performance and sales growth in an easy-to-access format.

If you'd like to be one of the first to test upcoming Web Workbook features before they're released, you can sign up for our Beta Test Program.

Get it right the first time

To ensure that users see the correct information the first time, Nectari can validate end-user inputs in several dialog boxes, including the Advanced Filter, Data Model Parameter, Selection Page, Global Selection Page, and Stored Procedure. When manually typing a value in a field within any of these dialog boxes, Nectari will check to ensure that the input entered in the field matches the data type defined for that specific field. Available data types include string, Integer, Number, Date and Time, Date, Boolean, and Time, which are determined on the Global Parameters page.

This is how an error message would appear if a user enters the incorrect data type for a given field in the Selection Page.

Access external sources and destinations

To help Nectari customers bring in more data, flat files can now be used as a data source and a destination, for both on-premises and cloud customers. Flat files were previously only accessible on-premises, stored locally, or on the network. Flat files can now be accessed from external locations, like FTP sites, giving our cloud customers the ability to transfer data from these sources. Learn more on how to set up a flat file connection here.

Build data models faster

Users who build data models can save time by reviewing the entire SQL query within the Data Model Designer to verify what is and isn't working with your query. A new column in the Designer view makes it easier to find the data type associated with the field you're looking at. And we've also made several updates to the fields table to help you find the information you need with fewer clicks. You can now search the contents of the fields table using the new search bar and scroll through the table and continue to view your headers.

More updates

The Excel Add-In goes retro

An update that will have the Excel Add-in fans elated is the removal of the feature upgrade dependency to the Web Client. What does this mean exactly? After upgrading to 2023 R1, you won't have to upgrade the add-in when implementing future upgrades on the Web Client. You will have fewer manual updates to make but can continue to enjoy the latest features of the Nectari Web Client. This applies to both on-premises and cloud customers.

Single Sign-On Simplified

The benefits of single sign-on (SSO) are undeniable. There's no need to remember multiple passwords when using an existing email, making it much easier to log in and be more secure. It's a no-brainer for an organization to implement SSO, and now we've streamlined the process of configuring the SAML2 authentication for SSO. You can set up SAML2 for both Web Client and the Excel Add-In all in one place, and you don't have to reconfigure it for future software upgrades. Finally! Because the SAML2 configuration is bound to a central point, this setup will not change after an upgrade. Since HTTPS is required for SSO, your web client will also be more secure. Depending on your preference for SSO, Nectari now provides both OAuth and SAML2. Need help configuring SAML2? Here are some examples.

Share dashboards of any size

Avoid having your large files rejected when sharing charts, maps, or dashboards. Scale the export resolution to reduce the file size before exporting or sharing your dashboard. To ensure delivery to all recipients, you can downsize the file size up to 90%! You now have five options for scaling from very high to very low resolution. After upgrading to 2023 R1, your default export resolution will be set to the highest quality of very high.

New Web Client Templates

Highlights of the latest template addition include:

  • The new Preventive Maintenance module for Sage X3 has been added to help you manage the maintenance of both production and non-production equipment. You can now access reports like Equipment History, Resource Utilization, Job Ticket Response Time, and more.
  • Customers using the Sage 300 Service Manager add-on for costing, equipment maintenance, and resource scheduling, can now access reports like Install Base, Project Jobs Quotation, Labor Scheduling, and more.
